Encryptic

Encryptic is a first-person platformer modification of Unreal Tournament 2004. Players rocket-jump through an surreal Ancient-Egyptian meets Cyberpunk world avoiding traps and hazards.

Encryptic was a group project created as part of RMIT University’s Bachelor of Arts in Games Graphic Design program in 2008.

Players traverse an array of environments across three large levels, each containing a series of segmented challenge rooms typically centred around rocket-jumping techniques; using weapon recoil to propel the player in an opposite direction. Challenges are typically reflex-based such as vaulting over moving hazards, scaling walls, and navigating across dissolving platforms. Challenges are paced with slower exploratory segments, providing necessary downtime.
